Your Profit and Loss are automatically calculated in your MT4 platform. To manually calculate your Profit or Loss, you can use the following formula:
(Closing Price/rate– Opening Price) × Trade size x (Conversion of Term Currency back to Account Currency)
Where TRADE SIZE = contract size x lots
Use the following information as an example:

| Currency Pair: | GBP (base) /CHF (quote) |
| Quote/ Home Currency: | CHF/USD = 1.1025 |
| Opening Rate: | 2.1443 |
| Close Rate: | 2.1452 |
| Lots | 0.01 (i.e 1000 GBP) |
In this case the Base Currency = GBP and the Quote Currency = CHF
Trade Profit = (2.1452 - 2.1443) x 1000 = 0.9 CHF
Profit in USD = 0.9CHF x 1.1025 = 0.9923 USD
